I am Haru Kawai, an intern at IISIA.

It has been two months since I joined the company, and I am spending my days in a stimulating environment full of learning.

I casually attended an internship briefing session where I listened to a talk by Takeo Harada, the Representative of our institute. The theme was the war between Iran and the United States, but the profound depth of his talk made me realize how I only knew the superficial layer of the world.

Glimpsing the true nature of the world that I had not known before gave me a sense of catharsis.

At that moment, my desire to “learn here” turned into conviction.

I decided to join IISIA because I believed it is the environment where I can grow the most, allowing me to gain profound insights that I could never acquire by simply spending my university life aimlessly.

Here at IISIA, we are required to adapt to the speed of an acceleratingly evolving world.

It is an environment where you will be left behind if you are passive, and you are constantly required to use your brain actively; that is IISIA.

There are many things I am not used to, and though I give my absolute all and am exhausted every single day, I feel my intellectual curiosity and creative drive being stimulated amidst the busyness.

The sense of “healthy exhaustion after working my brain to the fullest” when leaving work is indescribably pleasant.

I am truly glad to be placed in an environment where I can experience this kind of growth.

Now, after a long introduction, I would like to announce that the 1st and 2nd (2nd Term) workshops of our social contribution program, the “Kusunoki Project,” will be held on Saturday, September 12th.

As someone involved in the management, I have never personally experienced an environment where, rather than just learning about AI, people of different generations and professions can gather in one place and discuss the future. That is exactly why I want to recommend it with confidence. I can confidently recommend that there is no better environment than this.

From corporate managers to families participating together,

From the elderly to the younger generation and students,

From those with abundant programming experience to AI beginners,

People in various positions and with various perspectives will participate.

And, instead of ending as a one-way technical lecture, each person reflects on the future of the AI society, diverse visions intermingle, and stimulating intellectual exchanges take place.

Ultimately, each and every person independently decides how they will navigate the society of the future.

For those who seek intellectual exchange suited to the times, those who have something they want to do in an AI society, or those who want to find what it is they want to do:

If you have even the slightest interest in AI, I believe it is worth participating.

Technical training is a given, but more than that, you can learn how to use your brain in an AI society and gain some kind of “heat” (passion/enthusiasm) through interaction with various participants. I believe this is the greatest appeal of this experience, something not found in other projects. Moreover, participation is free!

In addition, I would like to report that we are resuming the serialization of the blog “Invitation to the Kusunoki Project,” which has long been led by IISIA interns.

“Invitation to the Kusunoki Project” has had 27 posts so far. I am honored to be able to write the first draft of this season.

For this first blog post of the season, I would like to share the most memorable lesson I have learned during my two months working at IISIA.

It was the words spoken to me when I, as an intern, gave a presentation on a project proposal to our Representative, Takeo Harada.

At our institute, I learned the importance of “having literacy.” Do not swallow given information whole; question the premises. It is important to treat AI correctly as a tool, but if you rely on AI even for the crucial ideation (coming up with ideas), no value will be created. Proposing commonplace ideas is something even AI can do. The ability required of you all is not something like that.

It was a blind spot. I thought I was using AI flexibly, but I was actually dancing to its tune. Before I knew it, I had lost the ability to think flexibly.

This advice became a catalyst that significantly changed my way of thinking afterward. At the same time, I am deeply grateful to the Representative for teaching me this. Since then, I have stopped using AI for the ideation process.

The workshop we are recruiting for this time is not simply a course to learn programming skills.

What can I myself do in the AI era?

What will I create using AI?

And what will I leave for the next generation?

It is a practical space to find the answers to these questions yourself through hands-on experience.

These are the core elements valued as the axis of the Kusunoki Project, which will be held on Saturday, September 12th.

Not stopping at a technical training session, you learn “how to use your brain” in the AI era. I feel that this kind of learning is a highly valuable form of education in the age of AI. I think it is the best education demanded by our current times.

Along with feeling greatly honored to be involved in the management, I wrote this piece hoping that as many people as possible will participate in this project and acquire the sprouts of new ideas through it.
